The Way Forward
In 2004 the Award was independently evaluated and its progress is also monitored regularly. The evidence which has been obtained demonstrates that the Award is highly valued by participants, educationalists, parents and other members of the community.
Accordingly, in 2004, The Mark Scott Foundation and The Outward Bound Trust decided to make the Award more widely available throughout central Scotland. Their target is by 2009/10 228 participants will take part each year in the Award drawn from schools in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire, East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian, Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Stirling, Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and Ayrshire.
